Our story

2012
ConnectJustice
connectfutures_cic

Founded by 5 directors (!) from a range of backgrounds, ConnectJustice (as it was known in 2012) was established as an ethical and values-driven social enterprise – based in sunny Birmingham UK but reaching out internationally  – with real influence and evidence-based delivery of socially driven projects. Our vision was to harness and combine the assets of community, youth, and practitioner experience, supported by knowledge and evidence from academic research.

After quitting our day jobs followed by years of working from kitchen tables and coffee shops, Zubeda and Laura, with the support of Lynn and our numerous amazing colleagues, friends and communities, built our vision into an organisation.

ConnectFutures CIC
connectfutures-our-impact1

Fast forward to now, ConnectFutures CIC works with young people, communities and practitioners to build skills and confidence to navigate some of the most sensitive and contemporary challenges: exploitation, hate, extremism and disinformation. We use creative and educational methods to address these issues, build resilience and the capacity to stay safe, and for young people, to thrive through their transitions into adulthood.

We combine insight, experience, and practice to develop and deliver programmes, mentoring and workshops underpinned by research to make lasting change to the lives of individuals and impact of organisations.

Our courses and bespoke programmes can help prevent exploitation and hate by empowering people with knowledge and practical tools, and promoting positive personal and social change.

We are proud that our work – which embraces the hyper-local contexts of our young people and communities and spans nationally across the UK, also drawing upon our international experience including work in Western Europe, The Balkans, Central, South and South East Asia, North and Sub-Saharan Africa, and the US.

Now engaging the private sector – from SMEs to corporates – we are excited to bring our expertise into new areas of work, improving inclusivity, equality and diversity at organisational and policy levels internationally.
